Elena is a first year PhD student from the UCL-Birkbeck MRC DTP in Neuroscience and Mental Health, on rotation at the Affective Lab. She is interested in investigating the neural mechanisms of (and biases to) processes such as memory and decision-making. She obtained a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester and a MRes in Brain Sciences from UCL, where her thesis explored how implicit memory for auditory patterns may be modulated by reward. In addition, she was a research intern at the University of California San Diego, studying olfactory circuits underlying innate behaviour in mice.
