PhD students:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

90% of the students in the lab are funded by the faculty\/department via demonstratorships and special fellowships given by the department. Unfortunately, these are only available for UK citizens or permanent residence. Thus if you are a:<\/p>\r\n

  1. UK citizen or permanent resident<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    You should take the following steps to apply for a PhD at the ABL<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    1) Fill in THIS FORM<\/a>\u00a0by Dec 1.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    2) If we think you would be a good fit, we will invite you to an interview.<\/p>\r\n

    3) If you pass the interview we will invite you to write a research proposal and submit a full application<\/a>. More useful information on the application process can be found on the PALS website<\/a>. The deadline to submit an application to PALS is the 8th of January 2024.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    4) To submit your application you should apply formally to UCL<\/a>, indicating that you are applying for a position in the Experimental Psychology Research Department under the supervision of Prof Tali Sharot.<\/p>\r\n

      \r\n
    1. NOT a UK citizen or permanent resident<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      There are three ways to join the lab:<\/p>\r\n

      1) Apply directly to any of the funding opportunities listed in the table below under “any country”. If you get in, we would be delighted to discuss having you rotate in our lab. There is no need to contact us in advance.<\/p>\r\n

      2) There are only three opportunities for funding that require you to go through us rather than apply directly: UCL-RES, UCL-China JRS and UBEL ESRC. For complex reasons, our lab only supports UBEL ESRC students. This is a very competitive fellowship. However, we have been successful in the past. If you are interested in being considered for the UBEL ESRC fill in THIS FORM.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

      3) If you have already secured funding (for example via your home country, such as a Fulbright scholarship mention this when you fill in THIS FORM.<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

      Note, we do not take self funded students.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
