Sarah is a rotation PhD student on the LIDo DTP, funded by the BBSRC. In her BSc she specialised in socioeconomic policy, but then decided she was more interested in the brain and behaviour of individuals so she went on to study the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL. Following her interest in the ability of the brain to change and adapt, particularly in response to extreme experiences, she initially worked with the Brain Plasticity lab at UCL on robotic hand augmentation and sensorimotor learning, as well as the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College on the differential influence of psilocybin and escitalopram on patients with clinical depression. In her PhD at UCL, she now wants to gain a better understanding of learning and decision making in clinical populations and learn methods from computational psychiatry.
